First day of Preschool today!! Aiden is a Little Lion at the Lisbon preschool this year. He's been talking about it since last Thursday's open house. I told him we couldn't forget his backpack for school today. So after he got himself dressed he promptly put his back back on and wore it while he brushed his teeth, ate his breakfast, and kept it on until he had to take it off in the car.
I'm glad I got a few pictures at the house, because when he got to school there was no way he was going to focus enough to smile for the camera.
I did get one smile though, thanks to the principal who was standing there and helped Aiden hop up by the Lisbon Lion.
When we got to the door at the building, Aiden put his hands up and told Wes and I to STOP. Apparently we didn't need to go any further, he could handle it from here. How is it that kids are built in with the instinct to be embarrassed of their parents?!? :) Once he was inside his classroom I made him pose for one more picture by his locker. After that, his teacher came over and helped him find a book and a spot on the colored rug.
Aiden was so excited, Jude... not so much. He didn't want to be left behind and cried all the way home. Poor guy...he's going to have a rough few weeks here transitioning. I have to say that the Mom did pretty good...that is until Wes asked me how I was doing. Then the tears came, but only for a minute. Aiden made it pretty easy with all of his excitement!
