State Fair 2010

State Fair 2010 was awesome. How can it not be, right? :) We got to go twice this year with one day was in the high 70's, which really doesn't get any better when you're talking about fair weather! Classic picture to start with...Aiden next to the giant pumpkin. :)
I entered a knit scarf and a baby sweater in the Fabrics and Threads competition...the scarf won a pink ribbon. 4th place! :)
Jude absolutely LOVED going down this slide. His smile was so big at the bottom and he instantly turned around and started trying to go back up the slide and do it again. Wes vowed that he wasn't going to do that again. And when Aiden and I were waiting at the bottom of the slide, I asked him if he wanted to go down. He replied with a resolved, "No way," as if I didn't know what he would say. :)
The boys' favorite building was the children's building with all of the baby animals. There were baby cows, goats, sheep and even chicks hatching out of their eggs. I think Jude could have stayed in that building all day. They had a video of one of the baby cows being born, which caught Aiden's attention...which led to a million questions...which led to me trying to divert those questions and save them for a later date. :)
The John Deere tractor display is always a favorite!
As was the Ye Ol' Mill ride. Aiden and I went on the ride together the first day we went to the fair, and then grandpa Terry and Wes got to take him this past weekend. He had a blast both times and loves to pretend like he's scared in the dark and that there are crocodiles in the water.
And of course there are tons of things to eat at the fair. Jude tried his first burger (actually it was Mommy's burger) and proceeded to eat the whole thing. Mind you this wasn't some nothing burger from McDonalds...this was a quarter pound burger from the cattlemen's stand!!
Aiden sampling some of the ice cream from the Produce building.
Both days we got lucky and Jude took a nap while we were walking around. Fair day is usually as long as we can make it...the second day we arrived at about 8:00am and stayed until may-be 3:00ish!! Pretty awesome for our little guys!!
Bumper boats was another favorite ride for Aiden!! Wes ordered ticket packs online, which came with tickets for the midway rides. So while Jude was napping, Aiden got to go a good four rounds on this ride, and he loved it every time. :)
We also got passes to either ride a pony or a camel...we opted for the ponies this year. It was the first time on a pony for both of them. Jude especially had his cowboy saddle rock going on...he would kind of sway back and forth as the pony walked. Very cute!
The boys had fun with the garden tunnel...of course. It's pretty cool!!
And I always love taking this last photo on the way home from the fair.
Fun was had by all. :)
