Working on a Porch in Colorado

The trip out to Colorado was an adventure as it always is. The car ride alone is always a bit adventuresome...I'm always worried about how the boys will travel. Aiden did awesome this time and kept himself busy watching movies, playing and coloring. Jude fought the belts a bit this time. You just hit a point where all you can think of is getting out of the car...so we all understood his frustrations. Don't we all just look thrilled below...he, he, he.

We were all happy to finally make it to Colorado. As you can see the boys made them self at home rather quickly. The kitchen island was a favorite place to eat breakfast...it's very "big boy" you know.

And the ball machine was the favorite toy for the weekend. It has a little blower in it. So the balls travels down the shoot and then they get shot up in the air and roll back down. I'm guessing the batteries were about worn down by the time we left!!

And here we all are sitting around our work in progress. I'll have to get photos of the finished porch for you to see. It was really quite a project and everybody worked really hard. We ended up building a stone patio...with plans to switch a window and sliding door so that stairs come down the side of the house rather than dividing the back yard. Taking down the old deck really opened up the space behind the house and made Corrinn and Ankur's back yard look so much bigger!! Rosie came over to hang out every day that we were there which was so much fun. It felt like a little glimpse of when we were back in school and at each other's house every day...with each other practically all of the time. I think she and I have been friends since may-be 1988 or so....ugh, you do the math...I think I'm getting old. :)

We also celebrated Mr. Wyatt's birthday a month early. Poor guy had to strip down for his Nemo birthday cake....

...and for good reason. This little guy really dug in!! And enjoyed every minute of it. Happy
Birthday Wyatt!! All around it was a great trip to Colorado, and fun to get to see all of our loved ones!!
