School Report

This evening was Aiden's first parent / teacher conference. First of all, can you believe I'm even saying this...how can he be that old!! Wes got to go to this first meeting, and I'll have to say that I wish that I had taken turn number one...because our little Aiden got a ROCK STAR report!!
Both of his teachers love him. They said he's a very good student in class, listens and raises his hand. They said he loves to answer questions and they can see that he's dying for them to call on him to give the answer (we both knew that would be the case). He seems to like to spend his free classroom time by the science wall. And he is friends with everyone and everyone likes to be his friend. He is very inquisitive and is always wanting to learn. He's comfortable playing on his own and also with the group. The rest of the conference was spent going through the "report card" which is basically their evaluation of different skills and abilities. Wes said the "needs improvement" column was never checked...he excelled in everything. This is Mrs. Westerhaus' first year of teaching and I was a bit nervous about this when I first found out. But I think we really got somebody full of enthusiasm and still full of passion and energy for these little people. Aiden really seems to love her!

Wes brought home a packet of work sheets as well as a couple of special pictures. This first picture below is of a fall tree. Aiden has been very observant of the leaves on the trees this fall and trying to understand the sequence of the seasons. And I figured it was because they have been talking about fall in school. Every day they discuss the weather as part of their beginning of the day routine.

This second photo is going to be a special one for Grandpa Terry!! The kids spent a week talking about birthdays and all of the special things their families do. Here is Aiden's birthday picture. Grandpa Terry is there on the bottom...eating cake. I'm assuming the little person is Aiden...and then the drive way is FULL of cars. And I'm thinking that big long car with a bunch of wheels can be none other than Annie and Franks camper. And all of the cars are hitched together...because hitches are cool to our little guy right now. :) Isn't it the greatest picture ever. His teachers say that he he has some of the most detailed drawings with the longest stories to go with them!!
