So what have we been doing this past month besides trying to make a deadline?? Well, not much and a little bit of everything I suppose you could say. The deadline really did take up quite a bit of our time, and thank-you so much to both grandma's for watching the boys so that I can still have the opportunity to work!! It is a huge support, but also a great chance for the boys to get to know and hang out with their Grandmas!! Thank-you!!
Here are the boys at such a young and vulnerable age...being manipulated into thinking that comic books are cool. (wink, wink) I suppose Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Lightning McQueen are pretty cool and fun to read with Dad. :)
We've pulled the sprinkler and swimming pool out a few times in the hot weather this past month. These photos kind of make me smile. These two boys, although brothers, are sooo unique and different from each other. Aiden had an absolute blast running through the crazy bug sprinkler....
...but Jude didn't want to have much to do with water spraying everywhere. He much preferred to sit on the side line and stay dry,
while Aiden ran around and got soaking wet before he was finished.
We made a trip to the park this past week, had a little picnic and then hung out for about an hour. There were quite a few kids playing that day. Aiden ran right into the midst of a large group of kids and joined a game of space rocket. They dodged asteroids and pushed buttons from the safe location of the rocket jungle gym. Jude on the other hand like to ride the horse merry-go-round, was not afraid of going fast and then proceeded to find the highest, fastest slide and go down it about 30 times. This he did on his own, away from the other kids. When I asked him if he wanted to play with the other children, and that I would go with him...he quietly said, "no." And that was that. After the other kids left, Aiden came over to play with Jude and I, but he was quick to warn me not to push the horses too fast...and he only made it down that slide twice. So opposite...and so fun to observe. :)
And because I have a captive audience...here is my awesome clematis from mothers day a few years back. They got quite large and were absolutely stunning this year!!
OK, now back to more boy stories. Jude has been putting the miles on the old popper. It's particularly cool this summer because...well...there are popping balls. :)
and the stock wagon came equipped with a bull that is now named Bob. :) And since Aiden thinks that hitches are about the coolest thing, he's even had both wagons hooked onto the John Deer...and was able to pull both of them for a short distance!!
