I have just a short story to tell from this past week. We were driving home from a full day and Aiden had fallen asleep in the back seat. Jude was back there chattering away, and I could hear him saying the word "beee-a-ball" Now, perhaps this little guy can already see himself as a coach...telling his team to be the ball. Ummmm may-be. But, being the Mom I can typically understand Jude talk...and I'm pretty sure he was shooting for (no pun intended) the word basketball. So Wes and I worked with him...pronouncing the word slowly so that he could repeat it. It truly is his favorite word in the world, and he desperately wants to get it right. He would periodically say, "baaaa-a-ball" which we would praise him for, because "baaa" is technically closer than "beee". Oh, but the effort!! He would get the "baaa-a-ball" sounded out and then heave this huge sigh of relief...like it had taken absolutely all of his effort to say the word correctly. And then the next time he would practice, he'd be back to "beee" again...but just saying the word back there over and over was keeping him happy. So sweet!! :)
