The Play House

The play house got a bit of a face lift on Jude's birthday weekend. Wes and Terry went to town and got so much done Saturday and Sunday mornings. The swing set was a hand-me-down from one of the partners at OPN. His kids are in their teens now and they were looking to get rid of it. We were happy to take it off their hands.
The play set did need a little fixing up though. Some of the wood near the base was needing to be replaced, and being architects we both saw some prime real estate under the platform for a awesome fort underneath. So new sides were added, a very solid ladder and last but not least a new sandbox. The sandbox is being finished this week. Wes is trimming the sides with more of the fencing wood and lining the bottom to prevent any weeds from coming through. We bought 60 bags of play sand this weekend and had to borrow Dad's pick-up to get it home. Very heavy!! Aiden enjoyed watching the forklift at Menards lift the pallet onto Grandpa's truck, good stuff!!
Aiden and Jude both are very excited about their new play set. We've already spent a lot more time out there since it has been fixed up. Jude loves to swing and try to climb up the slide. Aiden loves to shoot cars down the slide and is now all about his small corner of sand. We dumped a few bags in before everything was trimmed. So he has a little corner with about 15 trucks that are already bulldozing and making new interstates. The rest of the trimming should be done in the next couple of evenings to give us a fully equipped construction sight.
