Chicago Trip

Several weekends ago Wes and I had the opportunity to take a long weekend in Chicago. It was so much fun to get away and take a little break. One of the highlights was the Renegade Craft Fair. LINK So many funky people making everything from t-shirts, to purses, to jewelry, etc. etc. I walked away with my head full of ideas, and it's so much fun to see swarms of young people "crafting."
We made coffee stops, fabric stops..
and salvage stops. The salvage stores that we went to were so cool, and full of such unique things. LINK , LINK

One store not only had savage material, but connected pieces together to make new and funky things. Like the fountain / gazebo below. Note the lunch tray roof, old porch swings and bath tub fountain. So much fun!!

And take a second look at the awning below - yep....chairs!! Can you believe it?

And a concert to end our trip, the group U2 at Soldier field right down town. I think there were around 80,000 people at this concert. This photo was taken as people were still coming in. Quite the stage!!

What a fun fun weekend. Thank-you Mary for watching the boys for us!! And Mom for being the rescue nurse when Jude got a fever. And Annie for surprising us with a porch ceiling when we got home.
