We've been doing some big time canning in the past week. First our two lugs of peaches from Colorado arrived the weekend we were at the fair. So one evening that week Wes and I pulled all of the pots, jars, lids, etc from the basment and set up for a peach blitz.
Canning 40 jars of peaches made for kind of a long evening, but it was well worth it. The peaches are abolutely wonderful!! I wouldn't say we are quite at state fair quality yet...may-be when we're sixty we'll have the art mastered. :)
Then Friday evening when the LeMars crew (Annie, Frank, Mary & Terry) arrived we canned a bunch of tomatos. I haven't counted all of the jars yet but we are for sure set for the year!! And we had lots of fun doing it as a family. Nice bonding memories.
