Aiden's birthday was lots of fun and a big success. Grandma Mary and Grandpa Terry traveled down Friday evening, and preparations began that night. Here is Grandpa and
Aiden working on
homemade ice cream for the celebration - a Grandpa specialty!! And below is
Aiden's tractor cake. I didn't start it until about 7:00
Friday night and finished it around 11:00.

Here is the party set-up, complete with piles of balloons, streamers, pin the tail on the donkey, John Deere napkins and plates, a barn and of course tractors!! It really did look beautiful.

Here are the boys just after naps, waiting at the top of the stairs to come down and see what all was going on.

All of our hard work was all for this moment. Aiden was quiet as he came into the room...just long enough to take everything in, and then he got the hugest smile on his face and couldn't keep the excitement inside any longer. It was so much fun just to watch his face!!

Nothing went unnoticed. He loved the cake, pointed out the tractors on the plates and even took a moment to play with the hay bale decorations...

...and of course he noticed all of the presents!! :)

He got new puzzles, games, clothes and a huge pile of art supplies, a real fishing pole and tacle box....but I think perhaps the favorite thing was his new bike. I know this will get tons of use this summer!! I think his party was everything his heart had wished for. :)

The photos below I took just this morning. Aiden heard Jude waking up, and told me he was going to go play with him. So while I was making the bed, getting dressed, etc...Aiden and Jude were playing. One photo while they were still in their PJ's...

and the other after Jude bear was dressed. Because Jude "wants to come play with me again" Aiden told me while I was changing the littlest man. One of my favorite things is watching the boys interact and play together, and if I can catch it with a photo that's even better. :)
