The weather has been so HOT the past couple of days. Typical Iowa summer I guess. I've been enjoying the cool spring so much that now I am spoiled and don't want to have a thing to do with humidity and heat. But one thing this hot weather does allow us to do is pull the pool and sprinkler out. And that's just what we did today.
When the boys went down for their naps, I pulled out the pool, hosed it off, grabbed a pile of towels, sunscreen and waited to suprise the boys when they woke up. The water wasn't quite warm enough yet to play in, although it felt very nice to sprinkler on my feet. Aiden went in without any complaints, so I started to stick Jude in. Got the water about up to mid-thigh which I noticed he was making "guh, guh, guh" noises. Then when I tried stepping in the pool 5 minutes later I realized how cold that water was. Poor Jude, Mommy just sticks him in the freezing cold water.
So Jude hung out on my lap most of the time and we watched Aiden run through the sprinkler and in and out of the pool. I think Jude really wanted to be running around as well, but instead he had this grumpy face most of the rest of the afternoon. It was pretty hot, and not being able to run through the sprinkler didn't help!!

I thought this video was pretty funny. Typical Aiden move. Grab Jude's toy, pitch it in the water and run off. I guess that's what older brothers are for right? :)
