The baby shower in Corning turned out very nice!!
It was just a small group of family and friends, may-be 15 of us total. Mom and I were going for an old fashioned picnic theme, but our picnic had to come inside due to the weather. We met at the Brooks Hall where everything in our family seems to happen. Mom and Dad were married in the next door church, my cousin Estee had her baby shower there 19 years ago (I can still remember it!!), graduation parties, etc. etc. Dad was looking through a church album that was there, and found a photo of Mom in Sunday school when she was may-be seven years old. So the Brooks hall and our family go way back, and this shower just added another event to the long list. :)
Corrinn and Ankur and baby Jolly got a lot of nice gifts, stories were shared of children now grown up, advice was given, and there was just a general sense of excitement for a new baby in the family. Not the least of which came from Grandma Barb...oh no, she was not a bit excited to talk about a new grandchild. :)
Fun was had by all.
There was lots of exploring and running to do in the hall.
Dad and Wes were our super helpers!! Filling up pitchers, cookie plates and keeping the boys from causing too much trouble. :) I had a chance to finish baby's knitting. This is a little knit "coat" of sorts that is similar to the sleeper sacks that cover baby's legs. With orange trim, vintage buttons and an applique bird it will hopefully keep baby warm for his or her first winter. :)
Congratulations Corrinn and Ankur, we're all so excited for the arrival of our new family member!!
