Oh did we have fun with coloring eggs this year!! Aiden remembered coloring eggs last year and was talking about them the whole week before Easter. Thursday night we got the color out, boiled the eggs and when Wes got home we got to work. Aiden was literally shaking with excitement. The concept of being careful with the eggs is still a bit beyond us...but most of them made it through the ordeal with little harm. :) Here you can see that Aiden got to put the eggs into the dye.
Sometimes the little wire was just not enough to get the egg out...that and our excess of enthusiasm.
And so our hands ended up looking something like this:
But Aiden didn't care because he had colored eggs for Easter!! That is one pretty proud kiddo!!
Friday night we hopped in the car and headed west to Newton. They have a drive in theater that we had heard about from a guy at work. It took us a little over an hour to drive there but it was well worth it. Aiden couldn't quite figure out what the big deal was when we told him we were going to watch a movie inside the car. So what, I'm sure he was thinking...I watch movies in Grandma and Grandpa's car all the time going to Colorado. He even asked when we got in the car, "Where's the movie," as he was looking up at the ceiling. He was excited all the same!! This was our view from the car. The movie, "Aliens vs. Monsters" started at dusk.
Here we all are with our PJ's on and snacks bought waiting for the show to start. Jude takes these photo opportunities when nobody is looking to snitch food. :)
And here we are with the movie started. Needless to say, Aiden thought it was pretty cool!! Actually we all did since it was the first time for all of us at a drive-in theater. I think we'll for sure have to do this again sometime!!
