Another year at the Pumpkin Patch

It's pumpkin time again. I love this time of year. The air is crisp and clean, the harvest is coming in, there are multiple excuses to drink cider...and it's time to pick out pumpkins. We don't carve or paint our pumpkins, but the rule is that everyone in our family gets to pick out one. This year we have a pumpkin family of 5!! One for Mabel too of course. She was getting pumpkins long before the boys were around, and you could tell which pumpkin was her by the teeth marks. Ahem. These days she's a bit more considerate of her pumpkin. :)
This year Grandma, Grandpa, Annie and Frank got to join us in the hunt. This was a first for them and it made the event extra special for our family too. .
It was also Jude's first year at the pumpkin patch. Here he is with his baby size pumpkin. There was drive-by pumpkin selection...
fun harassing the chickens...
and hay bale jumping. No joke, there was jumping! Leave it to our boy, right? All in all it was a fun afternoon. If only this time of year could last a little longer and replace a few months of winter!!
