Iowa State Fair

Saturday was an absolutely perfect day for the fair. The weather was beautiful compared to the hot days that we've been having, and little man was a super trooper keeping up with Dad's "holy cow we're at the State Fair" energy. :)
As always, we did our share of snack comsumption. Little man and Wes split this giant pretzel. We had some of the perfect watermelon near the snake building, and I got my traditional peppermint ice cream bar. Everything....oh so yummy!
We did however revisit our sheep adventure of last year. Last year, if you remember, a sheep "baa'ed" at Aiden while in his stroller and it scared him half to death. Well, the same thing happened again this year. We both thought that perhaps we had worked through this incident, since there were no problems at either Johnson or Plymouth county fairs. But, those darn Iowa State Fair sheep are something else...and they got us again. So we worked through it and had a little discussion on how it's OK if the sheep says, "Baa" and hopefully next year we'll do a little better. The country western side of us got a hold of us for a minute or two. So....ya didn't know we had a country western side hugh? Yeah....the boots got the best of us for a moment. :) They sure did look cute, but little man didn't agree.
He didn't agree to Dad's hat either. (thank goodness!!)
The butter cow was another stop on our journey. Harry Potter this year.
The rest of the day was spent just wondering around and exploring all of the other traditional stops. Wes and I had tons of fun, and I think little man did too.
