Day 3 and a little of Day 4

Day 3 was a long day!! It started early at around 6:30, stopped for about 2 hours during the morning rain, and then continued until just after midnight. The guys were racing the weather trying to get the tar paper down before the rains hit. The above photo was taken at about 4:00 yesterday afternoon. By midnight they had the whole back side covered in OSB and almost all of the black paper down. They ran out of the special nails they needed and so had to quit (thank goodness!!). Mabel and I were down below, she sitting in my lap keeping me warm while the boys kept going and going and going......

These last two photos are taken this morning (day 4). Wes and Terry are getting ready to start shingling. You can see how much of the black paper they got down last night. Way to go guys!!!

Funny story: After the first day of roofing and using the big yellow lift both Terry and Wes were just black with dirt. After showering that evening they were chatting. Wes commented that he was unconsciously swaying back and forth in the shower, and he asked his Dad if he felt like he was on a boat. Terry laughed and said he was doing the same thing when he was in the shower. I guess the lift has a bit of a boat like quality when up in the air. :)
